Replacement Wearplates or Inserts

For the 2007-2008 ginning season, Vandergriff Inc. will be providing two options for replacement wearplates.  We are introducing our new “Ultra” model wearplates that will get considerably more wear at the ginning point.  For gin operations that gin higher volumes of cotton, we recommend you consider switching to our ultra model that will allow you to
gin considerably more cotton before having to re-order wearplates.  Due to the use of a higher grade of material used to make these wearplates, the cost will be approximately $2.00 higher than our traditional wearplate. For gin operations that gin lower volumes of cotton, we will still offer our traditional wearplate that has fit the needs of these types of plants for many years.

Many of our competitors that manufacture a gin rib with a wearplate have had great difficulty securing the wearplate to the rib.  It is not uncommon for the wearplate to come off sometime during the ginning season and tear up a gin saw. They have even resorted to the high tech option of lock-tite to secure it in place.  We have used the same wearplate arrangement for 14 years, and we simply do not have wearplates come loose during operation.

When you are ready order replacement wearplates, remember we are now offering our “Ultra” model as an option, and for extremely high volume plants a carbide arrangement.
