Summer is almost over and that cotton is popping up all across the country. They are ginning down in South Texas. Manufacturers are scrambling to get equipment installations completed. It was a good year domestically here in the USA for the Vandergriff Gin Rib. Well over 7,000 ribs CNC Machined since February of this year. I made a YouTube Video for you to check out about what is going on. I hope you get off to a great start in the USA ginning that cotton soon. If you have a big new gin stand that you invested tons of money in, I hope it has the Vandergriff Rib in it. It deserves it, not some inferior rib made in China, India, or even god forbid Pakistan. Let it gin like it should. Don't let inferior ribs be a cause of issues for you. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZEAb4ZcNAk CNC Machined. Held to close tolerances. No crooked ribs that will get into saws and cause rib fires, break and mess up your saws. They just gin. They pay for themselves very quickly.

Vandergriff Roots are heavily embedded in Texas. I am going to see my dad's sister Eva. She is 91 and the last of the 4 original Vandergriff Siblings. My dad was the oldest. They have a rich heritage in cotton and living a hard rural life. I made a video for you to check out.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9AWJu5vCAg I hope everyone had a good 4th. We are now on the downhill side of summer much to the chagrin of some cotton gin manufacturers that have deadlines to meet. :) We are now finishing up running Vandy Ribs for Lummus Gin Stands and they will be shipping out soon. Then, we will make one more run of our Game Changer Rib for Continental Gin Stands. Once this run is complete, that will be it. There are people on a waiting list who will get their ribs from this run, and we will have a few sets still left to sell, but we will be stocking spares for this upcoming season in the USA and will not sell them to fill orders that come in way too late. On a different subject, I finally found a letter from Don Van Doorn of Lummus Corporation written to my dad in 2003. I had really given up on ever finding it, but when I was cleaning out an old briefcase, there it was. I am not sure many of "this generation," know the contributions my father made to Lummus during his tenure there as chief engineer and Executive Vice President. I think Mr. Van Doorn makes this pretty clear in this letter. If you are fortunate enough to have a copy of his book, "Ginning Cotton, An Entrepreneur's Story," read Chapter 3. Vandergriff at Lummus. It will further enlighten you as to his many contributions there. This chapter of Lummus history is one they need not shy away from any longer. Vandy at Lummus. Gin Stand modifications to get an increase in capacities. Product line overhaul to get plants to handle increased trash from machined picked cotton. His designs made cotton ginned on Lummus plants the favorite of all textile mills. Notice the logo on the gin stand. Lummus has gone back to this today.
I hope the summer is going well and the weather has not been too damaging to any of your cotton planting. We have been running ribs hard since right after the first of the year. We have run 4,000 Continental Game Changer Ribs and already shipped them all out. We will make one more run to fill the remaining customer orders, and also allow us to stock spares. There will be a cut-off point where we will not sell anymore sets of ribs to allow us to stock spares for the upcoming season. Don't get caught by this, get your order in. We are now running Lummus Ribs. We are looking at about 2 weeks before they will be completed and shipped. Lots of interest was shown in our Rib for Consolidated Gin stands, but not enough actual orders for us to develop the new tooling. If you want Vandergriff Ribs for Consolidated Gin Stands, you need to call in and order. This rib WILL improve the performance of your gin stand in many areas.
This season, we will be stocking spare ribs so we won't get into the difficult position we were in last season. This was all due to our forging supplier getting hurt and ultimately retiring. We had to find a place to work with to get new tooling made, and we did. So last year's problem will not come back around again. Hope you have had a great summer and have been able to relax a little and maybe even travel. I hope the weather has not hit you hard where you reside and work. Many ask about my song "King Cotton." This song is about the planting, harvesting and ginning of cotton, but ultimately its about my Father, A.L Vandergriff. I am putting a link where you can get the download, right into your phone.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCqdSZKfigk How many of you running a cotton gin have ordered gin ribs, and when they show up there is a whole bunch of them that are crooked and not straight? You can't even put the damn things in. I wonder why any manufacturer would send their customers crap like this. It's like they fail to understand the importance of a gin rib in the ginning process. That scenario has never happened with Vandergriff Ribs. Never. We have strict quality controls from the start of the production process to the finish. We are constantly checking tolerances, even right up to the end to make sure our customers get what they have come to expect from us. Quality, precision and performance. This has always been the case since inception, 1994. Those in the know didn't wait long to put them in their gin stands and put gin rib issues (which led to gin stand issues) far behind them. Vandergriff Game Changer ribs receiving yet another inspection for precision and accuracy. Gin ribs is what we do. We have always taken this very seriously.

The Gin Rib Hotline 704-495-0296 Loyd nor Chris of CNC Performance Engineering will be at the Texas show this year. Chris is busy running game changer ribs for Continental Gin Stands. Two shifts worth. We have shipped out the first run and are well into the second. There will be one more run before we switch over to running Lummus Ribs. It is critical to get on the list ASAP to ensure that you will get the ribs you need for the upcoming season. We will be stocking a considerable amount of spares and will not get into these to fill orders that come in late. If you are running a Lummus gin stand that has very narrow saw spacing's, we can make you a rib. Our CNC machined ribs from forgings are accurate and strong. Any issues you might be having currently in this area could be resolved. We have made some tweaks in design to deal with the smaller variety of seed. I hope everyone has a great show. I hope to be there next year. Lots of good friends and good people there. Shipping em out!
Made in the USA! I hope all is going well. Chris Nachtmann of CNC Performance Engineering was at the Southern Southeastern Gin Show in Memphis representing the Vandergriff Gin Rib. His company has been involved and has machined this rib from a forging from the start. (1994). He indicated it was a good show. We have a pretty significant waiting list going now for Continental Game Changer ribs. (around 3,000 sold) The first run of around 1,000 ribs should be completed soon, and those that were first on the list should be the first to receive their ribs. Then the second run will start of approximately 2,000 more. Chris has added a second shift to his operation to speed this process up. We have also sold some ribs for Consolidated and Lummus Gin Stands, and they will get into the pipeline next. If you have any questions or want on the waiting list you can call the gin rib hotline at (704) 495-0296 email: ginribs@cncpe.com You can call Loyd at: 559-324-8848 Interested in Conversions? The Mid-South Farm and Gin Show is fast approaching. Loyd will not be in attendance at this year's show, but Chris Nachtmann of CNC Performance Engineering will be in our regular booth and can answer any questions you may have regarding Vandergriff Gin Ribs and take orders as well.
